January 4, 2005 Jon Cassar and Nigel Bennett Dear Mr. Cassar and Mr. Bennett, On behalf of the children and families of Canuck Place Children's Hospice, thank you for your donation. Your contribution makes it possible for us to offer specialized care for both a child and their family when a child has a progressive life-limiting illness. The goal of this care is to enhance quality of life for the child and family. This means different things to different families. For some, it is pain and symptom management for their child; for others, it's a good night's sleep knowing that their child is well cared for by professionals. It may be the opportunity for a child to experience a new activity or it may be grief counselling for brothers and sisters. Or it may mean all of these things. In each case, your contribution is helping to make a significant difference in their lives. With your help, our team of doctors, nurses, counsellors, therapists, school teachers, volunteers and many others at Canuck Place are able to offer this comprehensive, family-centred care throughout the progression of the child's illness and until the family no longer needs us.
